Shares of American Express and Home Depot are trading lower Thursday morning, dragging the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory. Shares of American Express and Home Depot are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday decline, as the Dow was most recently trading 186 points (0.6%) lower. American Express’s shares have dropped $5.56, or 3.7%, while those of Home Depot have fallen $6.44, or 2.0%, combining for a roughly 79-point drag on the Dow. Boeing Nike and Microsoft are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
